Job Summary:

Under the direction/supervision of the Operations Manager, manages all HONL operational activities of assigned clients and vessels, while ensuring that all HSE policies and procedures are followed. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

Champion the development of HONL safety culture on assigned vessels by implementing approved HSE policies, procedures and guidelines ensuring a safe and environmentally sound operation.
Actively participates in the investigation of accidents and incidents involving vessel damage and personnel injuries on assigned vessels.
Participates in HSE safety audits on assigned vessels.   
Ensures that vessels are crewed, operated and maintained in accordance with national / international regulatory requirements, company standards and customer expectations.
Liaise with client personnel during job planning and execution to ensure that both parties have an understanding of the operational requirements of upcoming and ongoing projects
Act as a resource for the commercial department during client presentations and / or other planning activities on assigned vessel / clients
Assists in the development and adherence of the operational budgets.
Responsible for the submission of signed (by company rep) Daily Position Reports, end of month field tickets and meal reports being timely received from the field
Supervises marine personnel of assigned vessels.
Observes and remains cognizant of the seaworthy condition of assigned vessels and reports all maintenance and repair requirements to the Maintenance Superintendents to correct any deficiencies.
Assist in the development and management of suppliers, clearing agents and ship chandlers to support remote operations of assigned vessels.
Any other assignment as may be determined by the Operations Manager 
Liaise with customer logistics and company transportation coordinator to ensure crew changes and logistics to offshore locations are coordinated.
Liaise with customer to obtain offshore and seabed site specific drawings. Plan best and safest jacking position at location.
Customer first line of contact - liaison- resolve issues, ensure good working relationship with customer.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 
Assistant Vessel Manager as may be assigned by the Operations manager
Marine Crew on assigned vessels. 
Other technical / logistics personnel as assigned

Qualifications:   
Ideally would possess a Bachelors degree from a Maritime Academy with a current Captain's License
Significant (10+ years) experience in an operational management position in a maritime company may be considered as an alternative

Experience:   
Previous experience supervising maritime personnel
Must possess skill sets and demonstrate proven experience in developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives.
Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.

Communication Skills:   
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to write professional reports and keep records of incidents
Must be able to develop and deliver presentations to mid-level client representatives (Superintendents, Project Managers, etc)

Mathematical Skills:
Possesses advanced arithmetical skills.

Computer and/or Software Skills:    
Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. 
Proficiency in Project and AutoCAD would be beneficial

Physical Demands:   
Must be physically fit: capable of climbing stairs on vessels lifting light (40 lbs) loads, etc
Capable of working extended hours
Some travel required: vehicle, air and water-borne
