Job Details: Test Analyst

Job Description:

Overview:
To design, compile / document, and carry out thorough system level tests of new and existing systems (both bespoke & supplied), by the use of structured planning, detailed scripting, and methodical execution to ensure smooth integration and effective operation in a production environment. Ensure scope of test maximises throughput and minimises risk.

Responsibilities:
1. Work with a functional specification to derive fit-for-purpose test plans and scripts, run implementation tests, regression tests, integration tests, and other functional or system tests
2. Produce strategy and identify scenarios that will test the design and quickly ascertain the source, optimum quantity, and type of data required to make the test effective
3. Build and manage appropriate test environments, source and baseline suitable test data, and ensure test result data is processed and archived accordingly
4. Work pro-actively alongside the Business Analysts and Key Users during User Acceptance to provide effective support and assistance where required
5. Maintain concise records and test documentation
6. Liase and co-ordinate with suppliers to resolve faults within production and project environments
7. Logging and monitoring progress of faults. At times progressing fault resolution with the Programmers to aid resolution

Required Skills:

 Education

Qualification : Educated to Degree level or equivalent

Experience

1. Understanding of system concepts, multi-user environments, structured methods, liaison with other IT groups
2. Industry knowledge desirable
3. ISEB Practitoner Qualification.
4. a minimum of 3 years experience is required for the role.

Skills

Good technical knowledge (Experience working with Oracle systems, SQL, basic Unix commands, Quality Center, QTP, quick test pro).
