This position will be responsible for Technical Training for the Oil, Gas & Industrial Services (OGIS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and also the effective development, coordination and presentation of training and development programs. Assess OGIS-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives. Identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees and customers. Actively search, creatively design and implement effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance. Responsible for the OGIS Training Cost Center.
Job Description
Lead the development and implementation of technical training and employee career development programs including:
Competency frameworks
Career Progression
Curriculum
Certification Programs
Work with HR Manager to drive organizational improvement initiatives.
Develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
Develop trainer development programs and coach others involved in training efforts.
Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands.
Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.
Test trainees through various methods including assessments to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
Develop and monitor spending against the departmental budget.
Develop and publish an effective external training curriculum along with suitable marketing materials.
Experience
A bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of years of professional experience.
At least two years of training and development experience in a corporate or business setting, preferably in a technical environment.
Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.
