Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Subsea Intervention Engineer located in Aberdeen.
Overview: Chevron Upstream Europe (CUE) operates four fields in the UK sector (Captain, Alba, Strathspey and Erskine), three of which have subsea tie-backs to a host facility.
Reporting to the Subsea Intervention Team Leader, this role will be responsible for the planning, engineering and execution of CUE subsea diving and ROV related projects. The expectation is that this position may spend a proportion of time at Contractor’s office and also offshore on Contractor’s vessels to supervise the execution of projects (approximately 40-60 days/ annum offshore).
Key Job Responsibilities for these positions: • The inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) of CUE subsea assets using underwater intervention techniques (divers and ROVs) • Focus of role is on robust engineering, comprehensive pre-job planning and development of risk mitigation plans for achieving reliability and integrity excellence in subsea facilities and incident free operations across all work fronts. • Working closely with subsea execution Contractor in all aspects of intervention preparation, including co-ordination of operation reviews and risk assessments, and delivery of engineering procedures and equipment. • Engineering supervision of offshore operations. • Identifying and adopting new technologies to improve business results. • Mentor and aid in the development of CUE organisational capability in the area of interventions and IRM. • A strong safety, execution and cost focus as well as contractor management will be expected of this position. • Achieve minimal production losses and excellent reliability and integrity from all CUE subsea facilities. • Be involved in all aspects of underwater interventions and marine integrity projects • Adhere to Chevron work processes, procedures and reviews, and abide by regulations relevant to diving and intervention operations
Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Demonstrated experience in planning and executing offshore diving and ROV operations • Previous experience of mature brownfield subsea infrastructure • Cost efficient focus on integrity management of subsea facilities and production efficiency • Broad experience in offshore and onshore roles dealing with subsea intervention related work programmes and problems • Experience in small capital projects (subsea tie-backs) would be beneficial • Good working knowledge of subsea production systems including structures, manifolds, pipelines and trees • Knowledge of FPSO hull and mooring systems • Knowledge and experience of managing contracts • Experienced with applicable industry standards, specifications and guidelines (IMCA) and UK regulations (diving) • Experienced in providing detailed cost estimates and front-end engineering design (FEED) for inspection, repair and maintenance scopes of work • Experience in dealing with subsea diving and ROV contractors and other external providers of IRM services is essential • Employment experience with a Subsea Contractor is preferred • Experience in managing interfaces with other subsea and Facilities Engineering disciplines • Strong operational safety focus with commitment for incident free operations (IFO) • Relevant engineering and operational experience likely gained over a 4+ year period is preferred. • Candidates with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field are preferred.
