Job Description: This one-year maternity leave position based at the Community Engagement Office in Fort McMurray. There is a requirement for local travel to communities within the RMWB and occasional travel to Calgary. The TEPCA Fort McMurray Community Engagement Office is regarded as a fundamental pillar to building and maintaining TEPCA's "social license" to operate. The position serves as a liaison between the Corporation and identified constituents with special attention to building relationships with the Corporation’s Aboriginal, community-based stakeholders and grassroots level community members. Sound judgement and communications skills are required, as this position must accurately represent to constituents the Corporation’s plans and interests as well as position and report accurately to the Corporation, stakeholder issues, idea and interests and positions and provide options for managing same. The position will facilitate consultation efforts with Aboriginal industry relations entities, trappers, and other stakeholders and develop an understanding of the systems, administration, and processes of governments and regulatory agencies. Active participation on numerous multi-stakeholder and community based committees and organizations is required. Key to the success of this position is the ability to learn, understand and appreciate culture and heritage of Aboriginal communities and possess an understanding of the people and issues facing residents of the RMWB. The role requires current knowledge in regards to local and regional social, economic and environmental issues, opportunities and barriers that may impact the design and implementation of the Joslyn Mine Project. Required Skills:

Education

Post Secondary education in a related field

Experience

Three to five years experience in a related role, community based or non-profit field

Skills

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Stakeholder Relations database experience an asset, preference for previous experience with Staketracker
Sound judgment, superior Interpersonal, Communications and Organizational Skills
Demonstrated Ability to initiate plan and implement work in a busy environment 
Community Investment experience an asset
