We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to work with the Rabigh Petrochemical plant in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be part of the Rabigh II expansion program within the Chemicals business, which is a key part of our Accelerated Transformation Program.
Minimum Requirements
The successful candidate will have an Engineering degree and at least 10 years of project management experience within the oil and gas industry, particular emphasis being placed on the initial engineering phases. The successful candidate should be familiar with planning and scheduling methods, such as CPM and PERT.
Ideal candidates will have extensive project management experience within the petrochemicals industry.
Candidates must have excellent English communication skills.
The role may require extensive travel and being away for extended periods.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide project leadership during all engineering project phases for the petrochemical plants in Rabigh. • During the conceptual phase, responsible for coordinating engineers’ activities with other disciplines and departments, and for preparing or working with project controls to prepare factored estimate and milestone schedules. • During Front End Engineering and Detailed Design (FEED), responsible for marshaling and coordinating internal engineering resources, external engineering resources, and divisional departments to complete required deliverables. • Primarily responsible for Project Execution Plant, Project Scope of Work, Project Objectives, and Project Design Basis. • Working within the project management team and design team to identify opportunity, establish project objectives, identify alternatives, solicit funds for all phases of project and report deviations on scope, cost, or schedule. • Work with Accounting and Finance to ensure project cost data is correct and reliable, items are expensed or capitalized correctly and in a timely manner, and projects are closed out in a timely fashion. • Responsible for final sign off of vendor and contractor invoices. • Responsible for ultimate design decisions, division of responsibilities, establishment of procedures/formalities/policies, establishing selection criteria/approvals, bidding vs. sole source, shop vs. field fabrication, etc. • Present or participate in presenting the project proposal to proponents and other interested organizations at technical meetings. • Coordinate the preparation of contracts, technical information and other information required for the award of design, project management and construction contracts. • Ensure that designs meet Saudi Aramco standards and specifications and that alternate designs or changes are economical, operable and meet safety, maintenance and schedule requirements. • Maintain project records including drawings, specifications, logs, financial reports and project correspondence.
