Job Details: Senior Geophysicist ( Sea)

A leading Exploration & Production operator with ambitious growth strategy has a requirement for a Senior Geophysicist to support activity in the Business Development Group.

The role will be based in Thailand at the Head Office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

Evaluating prospects/fields with available seismic data to tight deadlines

Generate maps on key horizons and map structural and stratigraphic components

QA/QC of sellers interpretations if no data is available 

 Working with Geologists and Engineers to generate resources in place for field or prospect

Evaluate risk parameters for prospect or field appraisal development

 Assist in developing field case base development plan or prospect drilling proposal

Support, recommend and participate in planning proposed work

Highly skilled interpretation  of seismic data

Contribute base-case development plans

Develop and mentor Thai personnel as required

 Present work to teams and management 

Candidate must have these essential skills:

BA or MSc in Geophysics or Geology

 Ability to use software applications, Landmark, SMT Kingdom and Petrel

At least 15 years experience in petroleum geophysics/geology including interpretation of both structural and stratigraphic play concepts with a variety of reservoir types 

Knowledge of interpretation uncertainties, risk analysis, geology and reservoir engineering fundamentals 

Good communication and presentation skills 

 Strong teamwork skills essential 

Good knowledge of global petroleum systems and interpretation in multiple basins worldwide 

Previous experience in a Business Development Team would be a significant advantage
