We’re currently recruiting for 2 Rotating Equipment Engineers to join our Shell (PES) team. Reporting directly to the Team Lead Rotating Equipment EMEA. You’ll be part of a dynamic and highly visible and diverse global team, that’s responsible for providing engineering and technology services, expert advice and sustainable solutions to projects and operating assets.
Responsibilities:
As one of our Rotating Equipment Engineers, you’ll be required to provide and lead the delivery of rotating equipment expert services to a range of upstream and downstream projects and operations.
- Support operations to achieve process safety, production and cost goals
- Work with project teams in support of Top Quartile Performance and Flawless Project Delivery
- Faster development, deployment and dissemination of technology and best practices
- Professional assurance, cost control, estimating, planning and IM services
- Develop people and engineering capability globally
- Drive global policy, practices and tools (simplification & standardisation)
- Coach, train and motivate younger team members within the discipline
Your accountabilities will include:
- Driving HSSE compliance and behaviours in line with corporate initiatives
- Comply with corporate standards and work processes
- Build and maintain applicable customer and supplier/contractor relations
- Support the development and follow up of new business with customers
- Develop and maintain expert role in activity support and coaching and development of staff
- Support development and application of new technologies, where applicable.
- Support maintenance and operational issues programs with customers, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Requirements:
You’ll have extensive rotating equipment experience and preferably international exposure of working in the oil industry or related industries. Fluently in English language is a prerequisite, spoken and written. Educated to MSc or BSc in mechanical engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
You’ll have specific expertise in at least one specific type of rotating equipment e.g.: gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, pumps. Combined with an in depth technical knowledge of the content and application of international standards for rotating equipment including working experience in front end, concept selection, execution and commissioning & start-up operations.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills will be required to work effectively in/and across multi-functional teams and interface with a wide range of internal stakeholders, customers and service providers. Proven ability to manage challenging deadlines and adapt to changing workloads with a high degree of initiative and independence to deliver results through others.
You’ll be commercially focused with a highly developed technical aptitude. Have an analytical approach and solution driven mindset to be able to solve complex rotating equipment problems. Have the courage and judgement to make the right, timely decisions based on incomplete and changing information to contribute and directly influence customer bottom line results; whilst increasing efficiency and reliability operating performance. Working knowledge of one or more refinery or upstream oil & gas processes would be desired to understand and translate the business needs into delivering innovative and sustainable value solutions.
