Job Details: Research & Development Manager

Aker Solutions’ Tie-in and Structures team, based at Fornebu, is responsible for delivering Subsea structures and tie-in systems that meet operators’ requirements for easier, quicker and more flexible solutions for both installation and operations. We need individuals with background from mechanical engineering, structural engineering or piping who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the Subsea market.

We are looking for: Research & Development Manager

Responsibilities and tasks 

Tie-In and Tooling is rapidly expanding, and we are looking for a person which can manage and coordinate our future growth.

This person shall be a driving force within R&D with the responsibility for execution and administration of the development engineering activities within the department.

Work Tasks and areas of Responsibility:

•    Manage and safeguard the development process from conceptual phases, through prototype testing to final close-out of development programs.
•    Execution of development engineering. This includes participation in design, fabrication and testing.
•    Progress and commercial reporting, both internal and external, within his/her scope of work.
•    Compliance to requirements from clients as well as own centre of excellence. 
•    Manage R&D projects
•    Manage members of his/her team.

Qualifications & personal attributes 

Education and Experience: 

•    Theoretical education as B.Sc. in relevant engineering discipline
•    Minimum 7 years engineering experience with products for offshore and subsea applications. 
•    etailed knowledge of development design processes.

Personal Qualities: 

•    Excellent communication skills (both in Norwegian and English) 
•    Be independent, show initiative and be structured in his/her daily work
•    Have skills to manage and guide a group of engineers.
