Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Project Quality Manager - Malange located in Houston, Texas through January 6, 2012.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Manages service and product verification and inspection of the project deliverables consistent with criticality assessments, and contractual and regulatory obligations.
Manages project quality support functions including quality planning, preventive action, non-conformance control, corrective action, management of change, audits, continuous improvement (including Lessons Learned), and project quality reporting & review.
Ensures development and implementation of consistent, standardized Quality Management, Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes covering the entire project cycle (design, shop fabrication and field construction, start up) aimed at identifying and avoiding future QA/QC incidents.
Provides assistance with Staffing the Project Team Quality personnel and provides guidance to project management on quality related issues.
Provides managerial direction and guidance to additional Project Quality Personnel e.g. Project Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Coordinators, Site QA/QC Manager, Inspection Coordinators, etc. for both onshore and offshore, including all Subsea and Topsides work.
The PQM conducts scheduled assessments and audits of the Project Team, EPC Contractors, their Sub-Contractors and Major Critical Suppliers. The position stewards assessment and audit findings to resolution and closure, and provides feedback on quality related issues, working closely with and drawing on the resources of the Company.
Ensures sufficient qualified QA/QC personnel are in place to ensure appropriate supplier and construction quality of new facilities.
As necessary, provide development and training so that QA/QC personnel have the proper credentials and qualifications to Chevron needs.
Exhibit leadership of Chevron Way Behaviors, implement CSOC principles, and support implementation of CPDEP processes.
Support and help build culture of value creation and through risk management and mitigation planning.
Participate and support development and maintenance of a strong IIF culture throughout the project and amongst all key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of professional work experience in quality management, engineering, procurement, construction and/or project management in the oil and gas industry, including 3-5 years of recent related experience.
Certified ISO 9001:2008 Auditor
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience on subsea projects is desirable.
Certifications such as CSWIP, NACE and ASNT will be preferred.
