Job Description     Our client, a major EPCM firm in St. John's, Newfoundland is currently looking for a Drilling Project Engineer to be based in St. John's.  Responsibilities:      Ensure that engineering produced deliverables are issued in accordance with project schedule and requirements. Monitor weekly progress reports to identify negative trends and assist the Drilling Engineering Manager to develop recovery plans. Follow up, reporting and closeout of drilling related action items resulting from HAZOPs and risk assessments. Facilitate the use of the Project Variance Notice (PVN) and Management of Change (MOC) processes by all disciplines. Facilitate interface management between the drilling facilities and the other topsides packages. Assist Project Controls Lead in preparation of cost and schedule reports as required. Assist Drilling Project Manager in the overall management of the drilling module scope. Participate in customer and internal review meetings.  Qualifications:      Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent experience Generally 4-7 years of experience in oil and gas field with particular emphasis on drilling related experience and knowledge of drill rig design. Proficient with engineering software applications. Computer proficiency required. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail important. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities important. Typically will regularly interface with departmental staff and middle and upper management, and frequently with the customer.
