Provide engineering support to confirm that load carrying structural components and marine mechanical systems are operated and maintained in compliance with applicable STP (Segment Technical Practices), ETPS (Engineering Technical Practices), industry codes, regulations, specifications, class requirements, and the BP Group Marine Standard, including as appreciates: Hull and deck structure Moorings Foundations Ballast and bilge Firewater: Marine hydraulic controls, Water tight appliances.
Key accountabilities
• Responsible for the overall inspection program, strategy development and execution of inspection and maintenance work to support safe, reliable and compliant operations. Looks after the integrity of the facilities and identify areas of improvements. • Provide engineering support and oversight for the in-service inspections and testing program, the evaluation of the condition monitoring data, confirmation the equipment operates within safe operational limits and is fit for service. • Provide engineering support to confirm any repairs related to inspection findings, fitness for service evaluations or other performance anomalies are in compliance with applicable STPs ETPS • Maintain and share knowledge of the related engineering technologies, standards lessons learned and best practices identified and used within BP and industry. • Confirm the additions of new topsides, risers, or umbilicals to an existing floating facility do not compromise a) Water tight integrity of the floating facility. b) Hydrostatic and hydrodynamic stability of the floating facility. c) Structural integrity of the hull and deck structure, structural appurtenances, moorings and foundations. d) Structural integrity of existing raisers and umbilicals through clashing or interference e) Specify design specifications and construction standards for new and replacement equipment. • Provide engineering support in development and technical endorsement of MOC (Management of Changes) proposals, while understanding how to arrive at the appropriate balance between safety, production, efficiency, and cost in assessing MOC proposals. • Provide support for emergency response to incidents including participation in incident investigations that relate to structural integrity / Stability • Facilitate efforts to identify, gather and maintain pertinent key data and documents to reflect the current condition and activities for the marine mechanical systems. • Assist in the establishment and monitoring of performance management metrics (KPIS)
Essential Education
Engineering degree in Mechanical/Inspection or Structural or related field
Essential experience and job requirements
Relevant experience working in the field of inspection and maintenance of offshore structures Working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer
