Job Details: Machine Tool Operator

We currently have permanent opportunities for Machine Tool Operators within the Machine Shop, reporting to the Cell Supervisor.

Main tasks 

• Set and operate Machine tools.
• Manufacture quality parts to meet customer requirements.
• Operation of horizontal borer, lathes and HBM in an effective and efficient manner.
• Work within FMC’s Safety and Quality guidelines.
• Understand and implement risk assessment process.
• Continually develop skill levels as part of the HPO ethos.
• Demonstrate understanding of lean principles within manufacturing cells.
• Understand principles behind the setting of key cell/department measures.
• Demonstrate continuous improvement within cell related to key measures.
• Promote good housekeeping within department related to 5S.

Qualifications and personal qualities 

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Good PC skills and experience of Microsoft packages including Word & Excel etc.
• Experience in a medium to heavy engineering environment
• Good communication skills
