We are looking to recruit an In-house Lawyer to join the legal team in the Upstream International business in Aberdeen, United  Kingdom. Responsibilities: As an In-house lawyer you will provide practical legal advice and support to the Upstream business in the U.K. You will focus on providing legal support to acquisition and divestment projects, including third party disposals, the drafting and negotiation of asset sale and purchase agreements, decommissioning security arrangements and related joint venture arrangements. There may also be an opportunity to cover legal support on joint venture and infrastructure matters.This role will also involve the following:·          Advise all levels of the business on legal issues relating to the business, find legally sound and creative solutions and options for achieving the business objectives within acceptable legal constraints.·          Work largely independently but make appropriate judgements as to when to refer decisions/issues to manager, other team members or to lawyers in other jurisdictions.-          Manage or coordinate legal services in defined cross border work. Requirements: We are looking for flexible and creative individuals with a practical approach to legal problem solving within acceptable legal and risk frameworks.    You will have a strong academic background, law degree and/or legal professional qualification. Experience of acquisitions and divestments in the UK oil and gas industry would be an advantage. A good understanding of business drivers, a commercial approach and excellent drafting and negotiating skills are essential for success You must be fluent in written and spoken English, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in clearly explaining legal concepts and issues to non lawyers.
