Our Client is seeking to appoint a Heavy Lift Superintendent for their Production Organization in Nigeria. Key responsibilities will include promoting a safe work environment; managing the planning and execution of several project routine and critical lifts needed to support the Nigerian Project Organization's ongoing project activities. This includes working with and coordinating project needs with local affiliate and contractors to ensure timely material and personnel receipt to meet project execution and schedule needs.The position will be stationed in Lagos, Nigeria and will require travel to other fabrication sites and possibly offshore. Travel to Europe and US to meet with vendors and Contractors may be required.The successful candidate will:Ensure rigging and equipment movement / loadout will be done safelyEnsure overall planning and execution of lifting operations in all areas and assess the safety in connection with simultaneous operationsServe as company representative to liase with Contractors rigging / Heavy Lift Specialist to ensure rigging activities are supported with engineering calculation study Ensure all lifting components have valid certificatesEnsure Contractor's is implementing the approved plans and procedures especially in monitoring rigging equipment certification and inspection Liase with Contractor's Load-out Supervisor to ensure all necessary procedures and plans are implemented Provide Heavy Lift input into the execution planning and contracting of Onshore, Offshore and Subsea Installation projectsDefine the resources and plans required to execute heavy liftsReview rigging plans for lifts and approve/accept or suggest improvementsEnsure that the necessary maintenance program is established, implemented, completed and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and standardsReview and witness lifts as needed to support affiliate needsReview heavy lift plans, construction/installation risk assessments, and other construction related reviews.Participate in constructability reviewsAssist in training, development and mentoring of the engineering and construction personnel.Participate in verification reviews (e.g. IPR, CRR/IRR, CER, Audit) for Client's Projects as needed The requirements for this position are:The Heavy Lift Superintendent will probably have construction experience in various remote locations (e.g. West Africa, Russia, and etc.) with a major oil and gas operator, and:5+ years Onshore/Offshore Heavy Lift experience at Supervisor or higher levelFamiliarity with Codes, Regulations and Specifications for Heavy LiftsCost estimating and scheduling experience related to Heavy LiftsKnowledge of oil and gas project construction work requirements and practicesKnowledge of oil and gas project safety and quality requirements and work practices Knowledge of issues and challenges with projects in various remote locationsBe goal / results oriented Possess organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with multi - disciplinary teams.   • Communication skills - good written and spoken English and presentation skills
