Perform the role of Geological/Geophysical Specialist for Upstream Research participating in the identification, analyses, and implementation of new technology associated with upstream exploration and producing activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee ongoing activities related to research, technical studies, and technology development in all areas of geology and geophysics
Represent the company on existing industry consortia
Assist in the development of new technology and research contracts
Prepare technical and status reports
Education & Experience:
Master's degree in Geosciences or related technical discipline
Doctorate degree is preferred
Minimum 15 years relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, ideally gained from working with major oil companies, oilfield service companies, or research and development centers
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a high degree of expertise and creativity in broad areas of the geosciences including seismic imaging, reservoir modeling, and petrophysics.
Candidates should have experience coordinating technical teams, development projects, and special studies
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated capabilities in research as evidenced by publications and presentations of technical papers
Candidates should have excellent communication and computer skills; the ability to work with a wide variety of skilled researchers, consultants, academic institutions, and outside research centers; and the ability to represent the company in a highly professional manner.
