Job Details: Designer, Well Access Systems (was)

The Well Access Systems department (WAS) designs and supplies equipment for installation and maintenance of subsea oil installations. The Riser & Rig Interface Products is organized within WAS. We are delivering Riser Joints and Mechanical Topside equipment to EPC-projects and Aftermarket.

To meet our exciting future, we are now recruiting motivated Designers to our new Engineering team in Asker. The Asker team will be a part of our strong and highly skilled team in Kongsberg that counts 70 person’s today. You would join an organization with short communications lines and your effort will directly influence on the final project result. 

Main tasks:

• Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings according to FMC principles
• Design of components or assemblies in compliance with ISO / DNV / applicable FMC standards
• Select the appropriate material, coating and weld specification
• Perform Tolerance analysis
• Support the other groups like FEA, Supply team and fabricators on technical matters
• Provide the input to E-Plan and planning tool (PPM)
• Proactive in identifying the variation potential in design and provide the input to Project Engineer or Lead engineer
• Make effective communication between Project Engineer, Lead engineer, product responsible and Subject matter experts.
• Ensure the deliverables are in compliance with the FMC Quality processes, global & local work instructions and business management system
• Support project engineer in the preparation of documents like test procedures
• Propose the changes on the product design based on Lean / HSE / Standardization perspectives 

Qualifications and personal qualities required:

• Above 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Oil & Gas industry
• Bachelor engineering degree.
• Experience in Design software like Pro/Engineer
• Experience in PLM software like TCE and SAP is preferred
• Experience in selection of materials, welding and coating
• Knowledge on ISO or ASME drawing standards and GD&T
• Attitude to adopt with the organization quality processes and other routines
• Proactive and ability to work systematically & independently.
• Good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
• Team player in a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined team.
• Ability to work systematically and independently
