As a member of the Platform Drilling and Completions Team, perform work scope of completion engineer within Drilling and Completion functional group dealing with majority of platform wells. As this is a functional group the scope may also include subsea wells.
Key Job Responsibilities for these positions:
• This will include working with the Asset Subsurface Team in completing all preplanning and design workscopes aligned with SWCPDEP and following the project through Phase 4 Execution and Phase 5 Closeout/Lookback of well completions. • The preplanning phase to include use of the Landmark engineering modeling software, liaison with service providers and contractors, arranging peer & Risk Uncertainty Management reviews. • Will also be required to perform offshore support and supervise completion operations offshore to achieve Incident Free Operations. • Assist in surface and subsea well integrity issues and risk assessments where appropriate. • Also assist Assets in Well Planning process & Decision Support Package development, technical limit & benchmarking, cost estimates, HSE notifications and other permits. • Provide support during well execution phase including the development of detailed completion design and detailed completion programs. • This to include a Complete Well On Paper exercise. • Ability to provide offshore completion engineering support during the execution phase for surface and/or subsea wells. • Be a role model for safety leadership & Chevron Way Behaviors and mentor/coach younger engineers. • Must be knowledgeable in horizontal sand control completion techniques and ESP completions for surface well. • Subsea completion experience, well testing, HPHT completion and support of major capital Drilling and Completion projects will be advantageous but not a must have. • Interface with supporting groups such as Chevron’s Energy Technology Company to develop detailed completion studies needed to support Project/well readiness. • Responsible for supporting the readiness studies which will be done by these supporting groups to include initial completion engineering scoping of studies, ensuring deliverables are being met on time through to end point and reaching conclusions of studies. • Provide contract management expertise and technical support. Provide mentoring support for less experience completion engineers in the Drilling and Completions Functional Group.
Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Proven Subsea and surface completion experience within the Oil and Gas Industry with preference of North Sea and including horizontal completions, sand control, ERD completions, multi-lateral completions likely to have been gained over 5 to 10 years+. • Subsea completions experience is a must with preferable history of offshore supervision of completion operations on subsea MODU. • Previous history and proven ability to develop completion design alternatives, probabilistic time-cost estimates for meeting project deliverables. • Including identification and management of supporting studies needed to support completion design alternatives. • Experience and proven ability to develop detailed completion designs, probabilistic time cost estimates and detailed completion procedures. • Proven ability to support and supervise completion operations including identification and ordering of long lead equipment items and completion optimisation. • Strong communications skills Demonstrated Safety Leadership Behaviours aligned with the Chevron's Incident Free Operation culture. • Proven and demonstrated ability to function effectively within a subsurface/Drilling & Completions team. • Positively contribute and influence others and work effectively within a team and with persons from diverse backgrounds. • Has ability to develop and sustain collaborative relationships • Proven track record in delivering projects on schedule and budget, and meeting technical well completion objectives. • Good working knowledge in the following software packages is preferred, Wellcat, Wellplan and Prosper. • Must have current well control certification & offshore survival accreditation. Good communication skills and demonsatration of Chevron Way Behaviours.
