Role synopsis    These commercial roles sit within the Finance Division of BP’s North Sea upstream business. The role of a Business Adviser is to:- - Represent BP externally in joint venture assets, - Act as the key point of business integration, - Co-ordinate the development of asset strategies, - Build business plans and manage performance, - Manage existing commercial agreements and shape new agreements, and - Identify & create value-adding business opportunities.  Key accountabilities  Business Integration  - Develop, refresh and monitor implementation of asset strategies. - Ensure that quality business plans are in place, to support delivery of strategies. - Provide integration across functions to create unified work programmes & budgets. - Support operations managers to make activity planning and prioritisation decisions.  Joint Venture Management - Represent BP on and lead joint venture management committees. - Co-ordinate and manage BP technical representation at JV sub committees. - Build co-venturer alignment to support JV approval and funding of BP proposed activity. - Manage all communications between BP and co-venturers. - Ensure administration of JV processes and compliance with contractual obligations.  Essential Education

Degree qualified, preferably in an appropriate business-related discipline.

 Essential experience and job requirements

- A strategic thinker, who is commercially astute with good business insight.
- Able to analyse and manage complex, multi-faceted commercial issues and risks.
- Comfortable representing BP externally, and in developing business relationships.
- Able to work with and influence counter-parties where objectives are not necessarily aligned.
- Strong team-working skills; able to work effectively with staff in operations and technical functions.
